NmakuSabrina Claudio was born on the 19th of September 1996 in Miami, Florida. Not much information is available about her early life including her schooling. What we do know is that, as a child, she wanted to be an artist and wasn’t too keen on formal education. In order to realize these lofty dreams, she began dancing and modeling. She recorded minimal success in these two ventures before making a transition to music. Aged 14, she started posting covers of herself singing popular songs on her YouTube channel (UrbanPouvoir) and later on, Instagram and Twitter.

Music Career

Music career 

From singing other people’s songs, Sabrina Claudio progressed to making her own music and relocated to Los Angeles. She released her first three singles in 2016 on the music app, Soundcloud. They are, Runnin’ Thru Lovers, Orion’s Belt and Confidently Lost. Since then, the Miami native has released her debut EP titled Confidently Lost as well as a mixed tape, About Time. Two of her songs,Unravel Me and Belong to You have charted on the Billboard Twitter Emerging Artist Chart. While the former reached number 22, the latter peaked at number 2.

The super talented Claudio has also worked with some of her contemporaries including the likes of 6lack, Duckwrth, and Khalid. She was featured on Duckwrth’s 2016 song, I’m Dead. She also featured Khalid on her own song, Don’t Let Me Down, released in April 2018. She and 6lack collaborated on the remix of her hit single, Belong to You.

Her family

Sabrina Claudio is the daughter of a Puerto Rican dad, Damian Luis Claudio and a Cuban mom, Minette Santos. Her maternal grandparents immigrated to the states from Cuba. Consequently, her ethnicity is mixed, half-Cuban and half-Puerto Rican. Not much information exists as to whether she has siblings. This is not unusual given that she is still a rising star. There is no doubt that as her profile continues to rise, more information would become available about her background.

Claudio gets her passion for music from her parents. Her parents are music lovers and introduced her to R&B songs at a very young age. Additionally, her parents fully supported her decision to pursue music as a full-time career. This is in spite of the fact that they are both highflying professionals in the medical field. They never pressured their daughter to follow in their footsteps but allowed her to pursue her heart desires.
